2025 Update from the Founders

Dear Supporters and Friends,

We are proud to report on our 2025 accomplishments for Armenia’s defense forces. AWHF delivered over $864K of results with targeted, high priority programs on the front lines and for our wounded veterans. Thanks to your donations, we have accomplished the following:

  • Defense Support Units for Armenia’s front lines, including a strategic installation in Syunik, and a new Emergency Response system for our defense forces ($71K),
  • Rehabilitation of our Wounded Heroes at our rehab center, to help our heroes recover and lead productive lives ($167K),
  • Robotics Lab in Yerevan, preparing veterans for Aerospace & Defense jobs, thanks to continued generous funding from Manoogian Simone Foundation ($465K),
  • Academic Scholarships, provided university tuition support to wounded heroes from the Artsakh War ($25K),
  • Support for Zinapah, we continue to partner with the Insurance Foundation for Servicemen, which provides compensation to the families of fallen, missing and disabled soldiers ($76K), and
  • Other projects to directly support our soldiers and veterans ($36K).

Our strategic focus remains on three key areas where humanitarian support directly enhances Armenia’s security:

A. PROTECTING OUR DEFENSE FORCES

1. Front Line Defense Support Units (DSUs): We continue to build up front line defense support through individually sponsored DSUs ($10,000 each), to protect those who protect Armenia ($71K). Installations include:

  • A major operations hub in Syunik, started in 2024 and to be completed in 2026,
  • Additional front line installations in Syunik and Vardenis,
  • A new Emergency Response command & control project to provide situational awareness and rapid response for defense forces in Syunik, Vardenis and other strategic border areas. This involves a new nationwide intelligence monitoring, information sharing, and response planning and execution system with associated computers, control centers, and communications infrastructure.

In addition to many individual donors, we thank JHM Foundation for their ongoing generous support of our DSU programs.

2. Donor-directed funds supporting local volunteer groups ($36K).

B. CARING FOR OUR WOUNDED HEROES

1. Rehabilitation: We provide high quality rehabilitation to over 70 disabled heroes in a state-of-the-art rehab center completed in 2023. As a symbol of their unwavering Armenian spirit, our heroes brought home 21 medals from 3 world championships, including 11 gold, 3 silver, and 7 bronzes across multiple para-sports events.

The center’s operating expenditures were funded through your donations, and the generous support of Mr. Serj Tankian and the Toufayan Family ($167K).

2. Medical and employment support: Targeted social programs including return to work and medical expenses ($24K).

3. Zinapah (1000plus): Provides stable and equitable compensation aimed at ensuring the well-being of the families of fallen and missing servicemen, as well as servicemen with 1st and 2nd degree disabilities or severe and profound levels of functional disability, who defended the homeland and its borders for the peace and security of future generations ($76K).

C. PREPARING VETERANS FOR TECHNOLOGY CONTRIBUTIONS

1. Our Robotics Lab (https://csiefoundation.am), gives our veterans and others hands-on experience with robotics and artificial intelligence specialists at our lab. CSIE delivers cutting-edge research to Armenia’s strategic industries, and trains the next generation of engineers in important fields. CSIE is funded by the Manoogian Simone Foundation ($450K), donor-directed scholarships ($15K), government grants, and company sponsorships.

2. Scholarships for Wounded Veterans: provided educational scholarships for 25 veterans of the Artsakh War through the Armenian Educational Foundation ($25K).

We plan on continuing to invest in these and similar projects in 2026 with your ongoing support and encouragement. Together, we are making a meaningful impact on the defense of our homeland.

You can find details of these projects on Facebook and Instagram (@armenianheroes) and on our website, www.armenianwoundedheroes.com.
