In May 2021, AWHF opened the doors of Armenian Heroes Rehab Center to our disabled veteran in need of physical and mental rehabilitation. At our new rehabilitation center, our heroes receive one-on-one training on how to use their prosthetics.
Membership is free to all our soldiers.
The rehab center is run by Sargis Stepanyan, a special ops soldier who lost both his legs and one arm while retrieving his fallen comrades under enemy fire. Sargis is a part of the AWHF team and provides invaluable support and mentorship to our heroes as he serves as an example of recovery and perseverance. In his role running the rehabilitation center, Sargis is as a personal trainer to our veterans and serves as a key resource for physical and mental rehabilitation.
AWHF’s rehab center is equipped with the latest exercise and physical training equipment tailored to the needs of our heroes with physical disabilities. These machines help our heroes regain their strength and develop specific muscle group that are critical for adapting to prosthetics and returning to a normal life. The facility also houses private treatment rooms where experts work with our heroes to treat specific injuries.
Following the Artsakh War in 2020, the need for physical and mental rehabilitation dramatically increased as thousands of our heroes sustained life-changing injuries.

Argam Avagyan is a participant in the 44-day war and has just started visiting the Armenian Heroes Rehabilitation Center. In a short time, great changes have already been noticed, related to the movement of his hand.

Արթուր Փարեմուզյանը վիրավորում է ստացել 44-օրյա պատերազմում: Կենտրոնի կինեզոլոգ Թուխմանուկ Մկրտչյանի աջակցությամբ, հաղթահարեց դժվարությունները և վերադարձավ ակտիվ կյանքին։
Arthur Paremuzian was wounded during the 44-day war. With the support of our center’s kinesiologist, Tukhmanuk Mkrtchyan, he overcame difficulties and returned to an active life․
Gevorg Hambardzumyan
Գևորգ Համբարձումյանը վիրավորում է ստացել 2020թ.-ի Արցախյան պատերազմի ժամանակ՝ պաշտպանելով հայրենիքը։ Պատերազմից հետո նա սկսել է վերականգնողական բուժում և արդեն 3 տարի է, ինչ հաճախում է Հայ հերոսների վերականգնողական կենտրոն։
Չնայած իր ստացած վնասվածքներին՝ Գևորգը ուժեղ կամքի շնորհիվ վերածվել է հաղթող մարզիկի։ 2024 թվականին նա մասնակցել է պարաբազկամարտի աշխարհի առաջնությանը և դարձել աշխարհի չեմպիոն։ Իսկ 2025թ.-ին նվաճել է Եվրոպայի չեմպիոնի տիտղոսը։
Gevorg Hambardzumyan was wounded during the 2020 Artsakh War while defending his homeland. After the war, he began rehabilitation treatment and has been attending the Armenian Heroes Rehabilitation Center for 3 years.
Despite his injuries, Gevorg, thanks to his strong will, has become a winning athlete. In 2024, he participated in the World Para-Arm Wrestling Championships and became the world champion. And in 2025, he won the title of European champion.
Gevorg Karapetyan
💪 Մասնագիտությամբ հրետանավոր Գևորգ Կարապետյանը գերազանց ավարտելով համալսարանը՝ անցել է ծառայության Արցախում։
44-օրյա պատերազմի ընթացքում նա վիրավորում է ստացել, սակայն դա չի կոտրել նրա կամքը։
Գևորգի ապրելակերպը, տոկունությունն ու առաջ շարժվելու ուժը այսօր շատերի համար մեծ մոտիվացիայի աղբյուր են։
💪 After graduating from university with honors, Gevorg Karapetyan, an artilleryman by profession, went on to serve in Artsakh.
During the 44-day war, he was wounded, but his will remained unbroken.
Today, Gevorg’s lifestyle, resilience, and determination to keep moving forward are a powerful source of motivation for many.
Gurgen Antonyan
Գուրգեն Անտոնյան՝ ուժի ու դիմացկունության օրինակ։ Արցախյան պատերազմում վիրավորվելուց հետո արդեն 4 տարի նա իր ճանապարհն է անցնում Հայ հերոսների վերականգնողական կենտրոնում։

Gurgen Antonyan is an example of strength and endurance. After being injured in the Artsakh war, he has been making his way to the Armenian Heroes Rehabilitation Center for 4 years.

Hayk Stepanyan
Հայկ Ստեփանյանը մեր ազգի հերոսն է: Վիրավորվել է Արցախյան պատերազմի ժամանակ։ 2022 թվականից բուժում և վերականգնում է ստանում Հայ հերոսների վերականգնողական կենտրոնում:
Hayk Stepanyan is the hero of our nation. He was wounded during the Artsakh war. Since 2022, he has been receiving treatment and rehabilitation at the Armenian Heroes Rehabilitation Center.
Hovhannes Avanesyan
Today we had a small talk with Arm Wrestler Hovhannes Avanesyan. We discussed his fighting path, problems and achievements in sports after the war.
By the way, he is one of the athletes who will go to Slovakia on May 4 this year to take part in the European Championship of Wrestling.
We are waiting for the triumphant return of our heroes.
Manvel Hakobyan
44 օրյա պատերազմի մասնակից Մանվել Հակոբյանը նույնպես միացել է մեր կենտրոնին։
Չնայած կարճ ժամանակ է ինչ այցելում է կենտրոն, բայց արդեն ունի բավականին առաջընթաց։
Ստեղծված իրավիճակը չի խանգարում Մանվելին զբաղվել իր սիրած գործերով` ճամփորդել, սպորտով զբաղվել, երաժշտություն լսել և դիտել սիրելի ֆիլմերը։
Բոլոր մեր հերոսներին ուժ ու եռանդ ենք մաղթում, մենք ձեր կողքին ենք:
Manvel Hakobyan, a participant of the 44-day war, also joined our center.
Although he has been a visitor to the center for a short time, he has already made considerable progress.
The created situation does not prevent Manvel from doing what he loves: traveling, doing sports, listening to music and watching his favorite movies.

Hero of the 44-day war, Narek Vardanyan.
As a result of a severe traumatic brain injury, Narek’s left arm and leg were paralyzed.
In this video, you will see Narek performing different exercises — progress he has achieved after attending the Armenian Wounded Heroes Rehabilitation Center for just one month.

Taron Umroyan
Taron Umroyan is one of the active participants in our center. Despite his injuries, he is in good shape today.

Վալերի Ավետիսյանը մեր կենտրոնի տարեց անդամներից է 72 տարեկան, Ղարաբաղյան մարտերի հերոս։
1991 թ ամռանը` Ոսկեպար֊ Բաղանիս հատվածում ծառայության ժամանակ ստացել է վիրավորում։
Այժմ հաճախում է Հայ Հերոսների Վերականգնողական կենտրոն՝ առողջությունը հնարավորինս վերականգնելու և պահպանելու նպատակով։

Valery Avetisyan is one of the older members of our center, 72 years old, a hero of the Artsakh battles.
In the summer of 1991, he was injured while serving in the Voskepar-Baghanis area.
Now he attends the Rehabilitation Center of Armenian Heroes in order to restore and maintain his health as much as possible.
