A group of 110 patriotic Armenians in Los Angeles raised over $60,000 at a “Scotch and Cigar” event on November 17, at the home of Armen and Katherine Panossian.

AWHF Founders Chris Petrossian and Razmig Arzoumanian discussed progress in deploying life-saving military first-aid kits across the Artsakh front lines, and our new initiative for post trauma care and rehabilitation for our wounded warriors.

Chris Petrossian and Razmig Arzoumanian present AWHF mission

Special thanks to Armen and Katherine for hosting, and to those who donated the catering, scotch and cigars, so that every dollar raised would go to our heroes. Thanks to our donors, we will continue to save lives on the Artsakh front lines and care for our wounded heroes. We will also continue to sponsor Sargis and other heroes to new, inspiring victories.

The gathering featured a moving video address by Armenia’s national hero, Major Sargis Stepanyan, who lost both legs and his right arm during a special operations mission in 2014.

Despite his triple-amputations, Sargis was in Rumia, Poland in November 2017, competing for the World Arms-Wrestling Championship with his left arm.

During his video message, taped prior to the competition, Sargis promised to win the world cup, and within days of our event in LA, he over-delivered and was crowned World Champion with two gold metals and one silver medal for Armenia (across three competition classes).

Watch one of Sargis’ crushing victories over more advantaged competitors.
